The aerosol parameters over different Ukraine regions by Microtops II sunphotometer measurements

Sunphotometer

Microtops II is a portable hand-held instrument for direct solar irradiance measurements in different wavelengths. The aerosol characteristics obtained from Microtops II measurements include AOT, Angström exponent and precipitable column water vapor.



Data development

We create the practical software for our Microtops II measurements development and analysis. Data are separated on three levels by quality (similar to AERONET data). The raw data of all observations are the data of level 1.0. The filtered data from haze, clouds and wrong pointing measurements are the data of level 1.5. Verified data are the level 2.0 data after calibration.

We use intercalibration and Langley calibration techniques for new constant calculation. Intercalibration was performed by the parameters transferred from AERONET sunphotometer, e.g. CIMEL CE318 sunphotometer of Kyiv site.
